Obviously this collection is a play on words with the saying, "Respect your elders". It means many things to me. First, it means to respect children, who are often abused or dismissed. Secondly it means to respect the voice of the generation below you. Always be open minded to a fresh perspective - each has its wisdom. Finally, I internalise that lesson. It means to respect the new you that is being formed, every day, and allow it space to bloom. This can be scary as it means constantly relinquishing your ego and who you used to be. However, the snake that does not shed its skin will die, and true suffering comes from resisting.
